Sight and Life has just released an important report, Micronutrients, Macro Impact: The Story of Vitamins and a Hungry World. Featured on page 39 is recognition of ICCIDD for its "25 years of contribution to prevention of brain damage of children." But, as the report, avers, "We cannot be successful, nor can we even call ourselves successful, if we live in a society that fails." There remains much to be done, even as we recognize that our successes in the past quarter-century provide a firm foundation and a body of lessons-learned that point the way forward.
Sight and Life is, itself a 25-year “think tank” collaboration by research firm Royal DSM NV and the UN World Food Programme. The report emphasizes the key role of micronutrients in improving human life experiences.
Sight and Life mirrors ICCIDD’s approach in taking a strategic approach, emphasizing the twin priorities of policy-making and advocacy, basing its entire enterprise on sound science and pursuing sustainable solutions.
