Iodized salt coverage in India is 89.4%, but 42.2% of the households are using salt with less than 15 ppm iodine. And 10.5% are still without access to iodized salt. The figures were released by the Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare from India's Iodized Salt Coverage Study 2010 in eight states, conducted by the government and UNICEF.
