A meeting attended by experts from the International Council for Control of Iodine Deficiency Disorders (ICCIDD) and GCC countries was held on 18th of March in Kuwait to discuss the situation of micronutrient deficiencies in the region with focus on Iodine defiance disorder.
An invitation was extended by the executive office of board of Health Ministers of GCC countries. This comes as the result of the approved decisions to taken by the council states during their meeting in sep 2009 as a step toward the elimination of IDD in the region .
The meeting was headed by Dr. Mohamed AL-Haydari, the deputy DG of the executive office and facilitated by Dr. Izzeldin S. Hussein, the regional coordinator of the International Council for Control of Iodine Deficiency Disorders.
