Finnish dairy Valio has charged itself with educating consumers in Finland and Sweden on the importance of iodine consumption.

From November, the iodine content (16 mcg per 100 mL of milk) will be listed on the front and back of Valio milk cartons in Sweden and Finland. The Finnish Nutrition Council believes that the adult population may be affected by mild iodine deficiency due to declining iodine intakes and encourages Finns to consume more dietary iodine.
